About 90% of the time everything is usually taken care of and
decided on what to do, what kind of music the bride and
groom would like played, when the cake will be cut, when to
annouce the first dance etc on the phone between the client
and myself. But every once in awhile the bride and groom
insist on having a meeting. After having these 1 in 10 meetings
I mentioned to a friend everything is usually taken care of over
the phone, and when we have the meetings we just discuss
the same thing we talked about on the phone. He said
"someone has put out a book saying always have a meeting".
Hmmm...I said your probably right...I guess it's not a bad
thing.

Well not too long after that it happened again and the bride to
be said she wanted to meet and have a meeting. I said "Is
there something we haven't covered you still want to talk
about"....."no" she said, "I just want to have a meeting".
We met about a week later at a resturant and discussed the
same thing again. I was puzzled...then it hit me. I just had to
say it. I said "you guys didn't want to discuss the wedding,
you just wanted to make sure I wasn't some young
grungy, greasy kid with a shoe box of cd's and see me in
person right"? They both laughed and said YES!

SO...for all you people out there who wants to have a
meeting......not that I have a problem with it, here is a picture
of me handing the winner one of my astro photos at
astronomy day at Rockbridge High School.

But if your wanting to know I got into spinning music. It started
officially on September 27th 1987. I had a friend who knew I
had a large collection of records (you know those big plastic
black rounds things with a long groove in it) He asked if I
would play for his nieces wedding at Kings Row in Fulton
Missouri. I decided to do it........for $75.00. Before the reception
was over I had two other people asking if I would play for them.
The rest is history!
Many people ask, what kind of music do I like. Everything! I
like rock, R&B, country, jazz etc...sometimes I will turn on KBIA
in Columbia to listen to some classical. I may have a favorite
artist at a certain time, but I would get bored listening to the
same thing all the time.
Another thing that I do to pass my time is astronomy. I am a
member of the Central Missouri Astronomical Association in
Columbia. My group open the Laws Observatory every
Wednesday nights from 8-10pm with a computer and NASA
exhibit room. We have recently been lucky enough to get a lot
of the old and new mission control flight directors to
autograph some pictures of them for our exhibit room. So we
have our own little mission control hall of fame. I am kind of in
charge of promoting the events so I am usually there. Stop by
and say hi. Or logon to our clubs website and click on
upcoming events to see what we have going on at.
